This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

I got there quite early and watched both teams' batting practice. I noticed that Hanshin starter Trey Moore was taking batting practice, even though he wasn't scheduled to start for Hanshin that day. Wow, thought I, no wonder he had a .400+ average.
I later found out that Trey Moore was on the bench that day as a pinch hitter! Yesterday's SanSpo reported that Moore was annoyed that his pinch-hitting spot was given to Hirashita for a subsequent game. SanSpo quoted Hoshino-kantoku as saying "Moore said to me, 'Why is Hirashita the pinch hitter when you've got me?' He was quite miffed."
What an enviable problem for a pitcher to have, eh?
