This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

The sun has now set on 2006, and will soon rise for the first day of 2007. I'd like to wish all of you, regulars and Fantasy head hunters alike, a happy new year.
The only regret I have for 2006 was that I didn't have nearly enough time to contribute as much as I would have liked. The number of Pro Yakyu Live games I was able to do greatly decreased from 2005 as responsibilities at home and work increased. However, after 15 and a half years at Beacon Information Technologies (formerly Software AG of Far east) in Tokyo, I resigned at the end of 2006 to, as many Pro Yakyu players who have crossed the Pacific have stated, "pursue my dream." As of January 1, 2007, my hobby since 1995, of writing about Japanese baseball and gathering stats, shall become my full time job.
Does this mean that JapaneseBaseball.com will become a pay site? Or that it will become covered with ads?
No. This site shall continue on as is. In fact, I'll have more time to see to it that the data is better kept up to date, and I'll work toward making that data more complete. Restoring the Pro Yakyu Wiki with better integration to the rest of the site is another thing high on my priority list.
So then, I'd like to wish you all a winning 2007.
