Does anyone have an idea how involved are the Japanese celebrities in the game of baseball? For example, I know that the renowned actor/director Takeshi "Beat" Kitano owns an amateur ballclub and that he once participated in some sort of an all-star game between entertainers and ex-ballplayers as a pitcher (word has it that he got Shigeo Nagashima out three times, or something like that).

Are there any other examples like this? I would be interested to know, especially the actors/directors interest me.

The other major one that I've often seen is Takahashi, of the comedy team Tunnels (was in the movie "Major League II"). He hosts celebrety vs. pros competitions on TV from time to time.
