Orix Rotation

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Orix Rotation
What is going on with the Orix starting rotation? It looked as if they were going to have a strong staff with Hirano, Davey, Kishida, and Kaneko, and now I see Kaneko is the only one pitching. What is wrong with the other three? If these other guys keep pitching for Orix it will be a long year for the Buffs. Nakayama, Kawagoe, Kondoh, and Mitsuhara are in the rotation now, not too pretty. I feel bad for the manager.

Hirano is out for 3 or 4 months because of arm surgery. Davey and Kishida have back and tendonitis trouble. They should be back as early as next week.

Kondo has been great and Kawagoe was very good in his last start. Nakayama has been okay but was sent down, and Mitsuhara was terrible. He pitches tonight.

Agreed. Kondoh has great stuff. He had trouble controlling his breaking balls, but his stuff just drops off the table.

Kawagoe did well but favored his pitching shoulder a bit in his outing against Lotte. Collins went out as soon as he saw that, but left him in. A few pitches after that, he was favoring that shoulder again, so we'll see how that holds up.

Orix signed SP Ramon Ortiz (34) today.
