This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

What I do is simply to calculate the Pythagorean winning percentage of every team (based on runs for and runs against) and project what their final record would be if they played at that level for the rest of the season.
Here's what the calculations give us after the inter-league season.
First the Pythagorean winning percentage compared to the actual ones:
And then the projected final standings at this point:
Pythagoras seems to think Yakult will give Yomiuri a run for their money, but doesn't expect SoftBank to keep up with Nippon Ham.
Personally, I'd love to see both Hiroshima and Rakuten in the playoffs, but Pythagoras says "not this year."
I'll do another review around the All-Star break to see what the numbers say then.
