Great Japanese Fielders

Great Japanese Fielders
I love the Japanese game, but I always felt the fielding here was very conservative. When I think of MLB history, it's easy to think of dramatic infielders with great range (Brooks Robinson, Ozzie Smith) and outfielders who performed circus catches (Willie Mays, Jim Edmonds).

I was just wondering who some people thought are some of the great Japanese defensive greats, either retired or current.

Resists... urge... to reply... with "Keijiro Matsumoto and Sho Nakata"...

Seriously, though, when I think of fantastic infielders with great range, the first guy to come to mind is Chunichi's Hirokazu Ibata, and his double-play partner Masahiro Araki. But Ibata's pretty amazing to watch all on his own.

Circus outfielders? Tsuyoshi Shinjo and his protege Hichori Morimoto did/do a decent job in that department.

Former Marine, Giant, and current Eagle shortstop Makoto Kosaka had incredible range in his prime. He was still quite good in the game I saw earlier today.
