Oh, how ironic, the documentary (on Hulu) is not viewable in Japan because they only stream in the States.

I've never seen this for sale in Japan either, but you can get it on Amazon. Highly recommended DVD. Although there are aspects of the documentary that show that "Baseball is war!" (quote from "Mr. Baseball" right?), I think you can also see a soft, sentimental side of Japanese baseball and culture, especially when Tennoji picks #18--the last player chosen.

I was all ready to pay for this video when it first came out, but then the postage charges cost more than the DVD itself. Why does digital media have to be sent in physical formats? Hulu is a step in the right direction, but as pointed out, they don't allow broadcasting outside of their borders due to some stupid short-sighted executives and their outdated distribution methods. Even if the copyright holders for the video want to allow viewing outside of the U.S., the system won't allow it - it's all or nothing. (Same problem with Yahoo! Doga - to satisfy the music industry, NPB has to be confined whether they want it to be or not.)

Well, I do hope that I'll get to see it someday.
