MLB managers who played in Japan

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
MLB managers who played in Japan
I noticed recently that there are quite some MLB managers who played in Japan.

At this moment Charlie Manuel (Phillies), who played for the Swallows and Buffaloes, is doing well.

But there are more managers. Ken Macha (Brewers) played for the Dragons, Jim Tracy (Rockies) played for the Whales (now Baystars). Davey Johnson (former Mets manager) played for the Giants.

Do you think that playing in Japan helped them becoming a manager in the MLB?
Do you know more MLB managers who played in Japan?

I can think of Jim Lefebvre (Mariners, Cubs, Brewers) who played for the Lotte Orions.

There a lot more players who became MLB coaches and minor league managers.

Also, Trey Hillman and Bobby Valentine managed in MLB after managing in Japan.
