Kiyohara Insults Fujikawa

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Kiyohara Insults Fujikawa
Fujikawa did a good job for the Tigers last night, especially striking out Kiyohara with the bases loaded to keep him from getting his 500th home run at Tokyo Dome against the Tigers. It seems Fujikawa has become the Tigers' ace now (displacing Igawa for the time being), yes?

Also - I have heard that Tigers' fans are madder than wet hens at Kiyohara for saying that Fujikawa "has no balls" for throwing him a forkball on his last pitch. He threw 2 fastballs and made Kiyohara look ridiculous with a beautiful fork that had him swinging in the dirt for the strikeout.

Have any of you heard more about these bitter comments and the fans reaction? Kiyohara really wanted to get #500 at home against the Tigers. Too bad.

Hoshino Special Director dealt with the issue rather well. Kiyohara is just tense and the Daily Sports cartoon summed up his attitude very nicely.

Only that Kiyohara has been roundly lambasted for his petulance. Senichi Hoshino, Akinobu Okada, and others lined up to comment on how rude Kiyohara was.

Ahhh, the once great now becoming the bitter old man. As far as I translated the comment, he said Fujikawa broke one of the "unwritten rules" of baseball by throwing a fork ball on a full count. Is that how anyone else read it? If so, when did striking out a batter contravene a so-called "rule"?

Oh well, what goes around comes around. Kiyohara would do well to remember what Giants' pitchers did to Randy Bass back in 1985, to prevent him breaking their manager's home run record. I think Kiyohara was at PL that year, so I'm sure he remembers.

And he's probably better off forgetting about trying to achieve this particular personal milestone and to start helping his team win a few games!

Get a clue Kiyo. What do you expect, the guy to throw it right down the middle for ya? Chances are if it's a fastball you won't get around on it anyway, so why are you complaining? You're getting old and you need to retire. Get #500 out of the way so you can quit and let someone play that deserves to. You're washed up. Lose the earrings while your at it. Get out of your mid-life crisis.
