Rain, fog, and/or snow put aside, if the game goes 12 innings in the Pacific League with the two teams still even, it's called a tie. Such a game is not made up. That makes it rather difficult to calculate who's going to win the pennant based on the number of wins.

In the Central league, they play 15 innings before calling it a draw. But, unlike the Pacific League, tied games are made up. This means that the team with the most wins at the end of the season will win the pennant. On the other hand, some teams may play more games than the scheduled 135, giving their batters an advantage at winning the home run and/or RBI titles.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
