Okay, I'll Jinx It - Hawks' Streak

Okay, I'll Jinx It - Hawks' Streak
Since the Hawks are going for their 15th straight win this evening, I'll go ahead and ask: What is the longest winning streak in NPB? Does anyone know?

In MLB the record is 26 (including one tie) set back in 1916 by the New York Giants. Some may remember the excitement when the A's ran off 20 in a row 3 summers ago.

Having watched a few of the Hawks' games online during the streak, they are definitely becoming my favorite PL team (as I don't currently have one).

With another over-powering victory over Rakuten this evening (14-3), the Hawks contine their streak to 15 wins in a row. The top streaks in Japan according to Nikkan Sports are:
Games Team Dates Finished
18 Nankai 1954.08.22 to 09.21 2nd
18(1) Taiei-Mainichi 1960.06.05 to 06.29 1st
17(1) Nankai 1965.06.17 to 07.14 1st
15 Mainichi 1950.05.12 to 06.04 1st
15 Giants 1951.07.16 to 08.03 1st
15 Chunichi 1955.07.28 to 08.18 2nd
15(1) Hankyu 1971.05.22 to 06.13 1st
15 Softbank 1905.06.14 to 07.06 ?
* Numbers in parentheses denote the number of ties within the streak.

No jinx yet.
