This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

I'm helping a guy with a baseball book he has coming out in March and he is apparently looking for information on the NPB-MLB series that have been held in the past. I have already been able to provide him with quite a bit of info, but he has posed some questions I haven't been able to find any online sources for. If someone could help us out here, it would be much appreciated. So here they are:
1. The San Francisco Giants came over during Spring Training in 1970, where they didn't do too well (one, it was spring training; two, the weather was cold and a number of players came down with injuries). Does anyone know what the schedule was on that in terms of dates and teams the SF Giants played against? Moreover, who on the Japanese side were the best at victimizing the SF Giants during those games?
2. I also have some questions about the series that pitted the Baltimore Orioles against both the Yomiuri Giants (an eight game sweep by Baltimore) and an NPB all star team in 1971: One, was it called "the real world series" and how did it come to be named that? Two, did Pat Dobson throw three shutouts in that series?
3. Did the Yomiuri Giants play against the MLB all star team in the 1990 series as well as against the SF Giants in 1970? Again, dates would be helpful.
If anyone has any answers on the above questions, it would be EXTREMELY helpful.
