Who are the Golden Golds?
Hello,

When I was in the Yomiuri Giants clubshop, I saw merchenise for a team called the "Golden Golds." They had a panda for the logo. Are they some sort of minor league team?

The Ibaraki Golden Golds is a team playing in the working class amateur league (or however you translate it - the shakai league). The team is owned and managed by a famous comedy show star Hakimoto Kinichi. The club started this year, and in their first "All Japan Club Tournament," reached to the semis before losing to eventual winner Nomo Baseball Club.

That's all I know about them. I was in Japan in early September and watched a little of the Golden Golds game against Nomo Baseball Club.

Hope it helps.
