Shohei "Giant" Baba
Did the wrestler Giant Baba play in the Japanese league? If so, when and where? Thanks.

Yes, he was scouted by the Yomiuri Giants in 1955 and played mostly in the club's farm team in the Eastern League. He went 12-1 in 1956 and was named the Eastern League's Pitcher of the Year.

Baba pitched only 7 innings for the top team in 1957, but I believe health problems shortened his career. He was signed by the Taiyo Whales in 1960, but I'm not sure of his record there. I know he injured his pitching hand in a bathtub accident and then took up pro wrestling soon after.

Baba played in 1957, going 0-1 with a 1.29 ERA in 3 games with the Yomiuri Giants. [Japan Baseball Daily]

Height/weight: 6'6" / 187 pounds.
