Pacific and Central League Differences?

Pacific and Central League Differences?
Hi,

I'm new to this site and checking out Japanese baseball. I'm confused about one thing. It appears the Central League played 146 games and Hanshin won the season and therefore is in the Nippon Series. While in the Pacific League it appears they only played 136 games and 3/4 teams made the playoffs and have to play 3 games series to advance to the Nippon Series. Is that correct? The winner of the CL makes the Nippon Series without any playoffs?

That's correct. All Hanshin had to do was clinch the pennant.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.
