Submarine Pitcher?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Submarine Pitcher?
I watched Japanese baseball when I was in Japan. I remember seeing a pitcher who threw underhand and they were interviewing him and they measured how low he threw the ball. I think it was just a few inches off the ground. I cannot remember who he was, or what team he played for. If anybody has any clue to who he is, please post.

Assuming that ninety people haven't already replied this, are you perhaps talking about the Chiba Lotte "Sub" Marine pitcher Shunsuke Watanabe? He's pretty awesome.

Picture of him pitching from the Konami Cup final.

You don't say when you were in Japan watching a game.

Chiba Lotte's Watanabe Shunsuke, who pitched last night against the Korean Samsun Lions, is the only current pitcher who throws centemeters from the ground. In fact, I'd seen him throw some dirt up into the air on a few deliveries during the season. He really gets down low.
