Mets Close to Deal with Iriki?

Mets Close to Deal with Iriki?
New York city papers say that the Mets are close to a deal to sign Iriki [New York Post]. He does not seem to have been an excellent pitcher in Japan, only good. What do fans and analysts there think of him?

The Mets have indeed signed Iriki. MLB.com has the story up now. Iriki has been signed to a one year major league contract.
