Tokyo Giants in Mid-April?

Tokyo Giants in Mid-April?
I'm taking my first trip to Japan and I'd like to catch a game. I'll only be in Tokyo and I looked up the Tokyo Giants, but I've found your site and see the Yomiuri Giants - same thing?

Also, it looks like they're playing in the Tokyo Dome while I'm there mid-April. Are tickets easy to get? My wife and I would like to catch a game.

Thanks for your help. Awesome, awesome website!

Yes Tokyo Giants is the old name for what is now the Yomiuri Giants. Tickets for Carp/Giants in mid-April should be easy to get.

So just show up an hour before the game and scalp some tix? I can't wait! My only chance to see a Japanese baseball game. Are my chances high just by showing up to scalp? I'll pay $100 dollars. Anything to worry about?

Again, this site is unbelievably professional and thorough. Very impressed!

I'm no expert on Tokyo Dome, but I'd imagine that if you turn up at least an hour before the game (the earlier the better, but Tokyo Dome has bags of things to do and see around it, so you'll have no problems amusing yourselves until game time) you'd be able to get an official ticket without resorting to scalping (which should be your final emergency option).

Just head to one of the ticket offices aound the Dome and you should have no worries - especially as you don't seem to be worried about price. If the cheap seats are sold out you can always get one of the more expensive ticket types.

You could scalp some tickets, but I wouldn't recommend it. The money would go to Japanese organised crime and you would pay far too much. Best to buy from the box office which would be a lot cheaper. You would most likely have to sit in the Carp side (home fans normally sit in the right side stands). Ask your travel agent to arrange tickets for you or go to Tokyo Dome the day after you arrive. If you can speak Japanese you can also buy tickets from any convenience store.
