S. Watanabe in Little League?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
S. Watanabe in Little League?
Question-

Did S. Watanabe live in the U.S. when he was Little League age? My son played with someone by this name and I had the pleasure to coach him. Any help?

That's a good question. Very little information can be found on most players before high school. I went through a couple of interviews (in Japanese), but the only mention of Little League is volunteering for youth baseball clinics as a professional.

While Shunsuke isn't too common a first name, Watanabe is very common. (You are referring to Shunsuke Watanabe, right?)

Do you have an old team photo? It's hard to tell what a child would grow to look like, but there might be some resemblence.

You could definitely tell Shunsuke by his jawline.
