These two Google searches should help you with your first question:As for the second half, I don't really pay much attention to the players after they leave for the MLB. But rumor has it that Nomo did pretty well, as well as Ichiro and Hideki Matsui.

The Nichi-Bei forum has lots about those who did well and those who didn't. I think there are even a few summaries of Japanese players and where they were in North America at the time.
