Who are all of the non-Asian players playing in all of Japanese Professional Baseball, either in the minor leagues or Japanese major leagues?

Thanks.

Well, I know of only one black player: name is Tuffy Rhodes, he plays for the Osaka Buffaloes, and he's number 20.

There is another black player that I know of: Roosevelt Brown plays left field for the Orix.

I'm looking for a list of all players currently playing in Japan, with USA major or minor league experience.

Look at the "Players" section on this forum's home page (left column) and go to "2003." You will see Westbay's list of players for the 2003 NPB season - then select the player.

Also, you can look at the team rosters by hitting the "Teams" option at the top of each page.

What Kiyoshi-san is saying above is that the list of players are there. You just need to cross reference them with those who have played in North America. I'm afraid I don't (yet) have that information entered into my database, but I can see how that might be useful information. I'll put it with entering high school and college teams in my TODO list.

Amazing how you read my intentions. Wow Westbay, your work is never done, more and more data!

One good resource is Wayne Graczyk's 2003 Japan Pro Baseball Fan Handbook & Media Guide. Wayne lists all foreigners in Japan from 1950 to 2003. This book can be picked up at many Japanese ballparks, from the Baseball America newspaper, or directly from Wayne at wayne at weekender dot co dot jp.

For one researcher (Whiting-san, I think), I started entering from where a player enters Pro Yakyu this season. New (non-returning) players (Hillman-kantoku included) in 2003 originated from these leagues:

+-----------------------------+-----+
| League | Sum |
+-----------------------------+-----+
| High School | 36 |
| University | 31 |
| MLB | 19 |
| Japanese Industrial Leagues | 17 |
| Unknown | 4 |
| Korea | 3 |
| AAA | 2 |
| A | 1 |
| AAA-International League | 1 |
| Independent League | 1 |
| Taiwan | 1 |
+-----------------------------+-----+
