Salary Arbitration?

Salary Arbitration?
Is there salary arbitration in Japanese baseball?

How are salaries determined for the upcoming season? Is there a maximum for players who do not have a lot of years of service?

One year contracts are negotiated every autumn and winter after the Japan Series, right about now. Players are offered pay raises or cuts depending on the just concluded season's performance.

Players have no leverage (short of striking), so I'm not sure how they're even "negotiating" with the club. Occasionally a veteran demands a multi-year contract, or a club offers a multi-year deal to a player in his walk year.
