Business in Japan

Business in Japan
Hey Commish, how are you? I hope everything is good.

I'm a wholesaler located in the States. I understand Japan already has Mizuno and SSK, but I carry pretty much every other brand and I deal directly with all these vendors. Does Japan use and buy -5 bats 33" as well? Is there any way I can contact some wholesaler in Japan, or maybe a team and sell products to them at a super cheap price? Is that unlikely to happen? I'm confident I can beat many Japanese prices. I don't speak Japanese. What should I do?

Your best bet would be to parter with someone who already has a presence in Japan. Nike and Addidas stand out.

The ball clubs will all already have licensing and marketing deals with all the major players in Japan directly. Some high profile players are allowed to be exempt from some promotions if they have their own deals with other vendors than the team.

Unless you have a branch office in Japan, with a staff that can attend smoke filled backroom meetings, it's going to be very tough to sell to the teams.
