Yamagomori

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Yamagomori
Does anyone know if teams still engage in the yamagomori training practices in the Winter? I know that Puro Yakyu is full of "new breed" types these days, but old habits die hard and I wonder if there is still the expectation that players go through the rigorous personal test of yamagomori.

Please let me know.

Hello, I'm a Japanese. What is "Yamagomori"? (^-^)

Of course the word exists. But players do "Yamagomori" in order to escape from the mass media or pretend that they practice hard. Generally they don't practice hard. Actually I hear that they only take a hot spring bath or warm up.

Of course it's applicable in the past. In Japan, perhaps nobody believes "Yamagomori."
