Pre-WWII Players

Pre-WWII Players
Recently I found an interesting book called "Japanese Baseball: A Statistical Handbook" by Daniel E. Johnson. It is a fascinating. I am interested in learning more about pre World War II players, especially living ones. Is there a site I can go to to find information? Or books to read?

I am very glad that you are enjoying my book. In response to your question, I would suggest picking up a copy of "Japanese Baseball Superstars" by Robert Fitts and Gary Engel [Link - about half way down]. It contains brief biographies of all the Japanese Hall of Famers and Meikyukai members up to the date of publication (2001). Players must have a minimum of 2,000 career hits or 200 pitching victories to qualify for Meikyukai.

Thanks for the information and Link. Sounds interesting.
