Players' Web Sites
Just wondering if any of you guys know official sites of Japanese baseball players? Ones in U.S. or Japan don't matter. Korean players would be nice too.

Gary Garland's links page has links to a ton of them (mostly in Japanese). [Link]

Yes, the link provided above has the most links to individual players pages anywhere I've seen.

On a side note, there was a news blip on Yahoo Japan the other day stating that Alex Ramirez of the Yakult Swallows was going to have his own personal site going up soon, in English, Japanese, and Spanish. The blip also stated that he would be the first foreign player in Japan to have his own web site. Is that true?

Bob Wolcott had a very revealing web site a few years ago.

Are you referring to the Bob Wolcott of the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes in 2000? If so, was his site sponsored by the Kintetsu team site, or just something that he threw together? I think that the article I read was referring to team sponsored individual web sites, not too sure about that though.

Bob Wolcott started a personal web site in English after signing with Kintetsu. The site was not affiliated with the Buffaloes. It had some updates on his spring training experiences in Japan, and his thoughts on moving to a new country, as well as some sections on personal history and hobbies.

Unfortunately, he didn't update it regularly over the season. If I recall correctly, he was sent to the minors and/or released before the season ended and this might explain why he stopped updating it.

I couldn't find any sign of the site on Google.

Thanks guys,

Gary's links do have a lot of wonderful web sites of different players. I'm stunned that popular players like Nomo and Ichiro themselves don't have one.

Here is a funny one that I found the other day. Sun Woo Kim, South Korean reliever of the Expos, has 2 "official" web sites. I've never heard of that until I saw his. [Link1, Link2 - both in Korean]
