Completing the Regular Season?

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Completing the Regular Season?
If you look the Central League standings, Yomiuri has played 142 games and Yakult 134. In a 144 game season, the remaining games for the Giants are 2 and 9 for the Swallows. Do these teams have to play out the regular calendar for completing the official season?

[By Editor: Revised number of games to correct figures.]

Yup. Some teams have quite a few games to make up. Because of rain outs during the season the BayStars and Swallows each have eight games remaining as of October 1.
