Hector Mercado
I'm trying to find out status of pitcher Hector Mercado. Is he still in Japan or is he on DL?

To the best of my knowledge he is still with the Hawks. As of May 17, 2004, according to the Official Pacific League Registry [in Japanese], Mercado is not with the top team. That's all the information I can come up with right now.

He has been in the minors all season thus far with a hamstring injury. According to the May 15 JapanBaseballDaily team reports, he was being called up this past Monday after the Hawks' series with Lotte. He has yet to pitch, however.
