Orix/Kintetsu Merger: Free Agency Possibility?
Hey, when (if?) the two franchises merge, or one folds, what will the contract status of the players be? I haven't caught any believable articles about the players' legal status (most are still on one-year contracts, right?). Will it be possible for them, or some of them, to declare themselves free agents? Could some attempt to negotiate MLB contracts? At least half-a-dozen might get one.

Could the Players' Union get anything at all out of this management incompetance for the players?
