When can Japanese Players get Posted?
Is there a specific date under the posting system when players may be posted?

Much thanks.

The dates a player may be posted run from November 1 (today) to March 1 of the next year. When a Japanese team posts a player, that player's name is sent to the MLB Commissioner who distributes it to the 30 MLB teams for bids. Any teams wanting to bid on a player may do so within a certain period (I don't recall how many days off hand), the highest bid being sent back to the Japanese Commissioner's Office and given to the team to decide if it's enough compensation.

If the posting team decides to accept the bid, the winning MLB team then has so many days to negotiate with the player. If those negotiations fail, the player remains with the team that posted him.

Hope this helps.
