Swallows vs Tigers Tickets?

Swallows vs Tigers Tickets?
Any Swallows fans out there have a calendar of when tickets for different games go on sale? I want to catch the Tigers at Jingu on 8/24, so I wanted to make sure I get tickets early.

By the way, does Jingu tend to sell out when the Tigers are there? Or are they generally easy to get tickets for?

It doesn't seem like the tickets for August's games are on sale yet, at least according to their online schedule [in Japanese].

Tickets for all of July's games are on sale now, though, so I'd imagine August's should be on sale sometime in early July.

As for your second question, yes Jingu is usually full for Tigers visits, mostly full of Hanshin fans. And with them in pole position for the pennant this year, I'd imagine those later games will be especially popular, with Hanshin fans from all around coming out of the woodwork to cheer on their heroes.

But having said that, if you get your tickets early, there should be no problems whatsoever.

Jingu is often full when the Tigers play. It's difficult to get tickets for the Tigers side, but the Swallows side is usually a good bet and you will find yourself among a lot of Tigers fans. Tickets go on sale about a month before the game but are still easy to get a couple of weeks before the game.

Thanks for the info. I'm spoiled as a Koshien goer, as tickets for the whole year are already on sale. This has its pros and cons, but at least I'm finished worrying about on-sale dates until next season!

Just to clarify this for the OP, anywhere but the rightfield unreserved bleachers will contain a lot of Tigers fans. Please don't buy tickets for the Swallows' gaiya. Unless you're willing to sit on your hands if the Tigers score, you will be asked to leave.

If anyone gets any updated info on when this game goes on sale, I'd appreciate it if you post again. I checked the Swallows site, but it doesn't seem to give the dates when games go on sale.

Out of curiosity, would people want to try to get a gang of japanesebaseball.com folks together for a game like that one? I've been thinking it'd be a lot of fun to put faces to some of the names someday, but since the largest contingents of fans on here seem to be Tigers and Swallows, it seemed like Swallows/Tigers might be the best matchup for such a meeting.

(Though maybe in reality, it'd be something more like Giants/BayStars so we could actually spread out in the bleachers somewhere, cheer against the Giants, and actually get Westbay to come along.)

Also, my Lawson's schedule claims that the 8/24 game will go on sale on July 24th.

Great idea, Deanna. I had been thinking of proposing that idea in the past, but never got around to it. It seems like there are just a handful of regular contributors here, so it's not impossible to get people together sometime. As for me, I live in Kansai, but I'm pretty certain I will be in Tokyo for the aforementioned Tigers vs. Swallows series.

Count me in too for that 8/24 game!

OK, maybe we can start organizing. People who are interested can say so. Will it be hard to get tickets for a weekend (Sunday night) game?

Argh, already have tentative plans for 8/24.

24th is out for me as well - 23rd would be ideal.

I'd love to head up to Jingu for a game, and sit on the home side for a change.

A week night would be best for me (weekends are usually dedicated to the family - although I still might be able to). I see that Christopher is also out on the 24th (but there is no game scheduled on the 23rd - Olympics final?). How about Monday the 25th?

Of course, it might not be good for the original poster (gotigersredsox). But if the Sunday game gets sold out quickly, not many people realize that there are Monday night games now and then - thus increasing the chances of getting a group of tickets together.

Yeah, I realized there is a Monday game as well. I might be able to stay for that, but it's a little giri-giri, so 24th might still be best.

I know I'm new here but I'm starting to really like it here and being able to enjoy talking about Japanese baseball with fellow fans.

I would love to meet up with some of you guys for a game. But I'm moving to Saitama-ken next month so I don't know when I'll be able to go.

And tigersredsox, everyehere Hanshin goes it tends to sell out (at least on whatever side of the stadium the Hanshin dugout is on.)

I live in Saitama and have no trouble getting to games all over the Kanto area. You have no excuse!

Well, so uh, do people want to try to get our acts together for this game on August 24th or 25th? I still don't know, but tickets go on sale pretty soon so we should probably mobilize if it's going to happen.

I know I could probably go to games in Tokyo on weekdays, I'm just worried because I have to go all the way out to Chichibu City, which isn't exactly the closest place you know. It's not like now, where I go to Yokohama Stadium and or Tokyo almost every night after work with no worries.

Actually, either 24 or 25 is good for me now. Maybe we should be doing this over e-mail, as this forum's not suited for this kind of thing.

If someone can arrange to contact each other by e-mail, I guess that would be best. I think I can make it to either night before I head back to Kansai. I'm going with another group of friends on either the 24th or 25th, so let me find out and then confirm which night is best for me if some of get together for this.

I've set up a mailing list for those of us in Japan (Kanto?) for the purpose of getting together for a game. To subscribe, send a message to "Majordomo atMark japanesebaseball d0t com" with "subscribe watch" in the body (not subject) of your message. To prevent spammers, I'll reply with a quiz that you'll have to pass before being approved.

I know that the Chiba MCTF is going to be upset if we don't plan something out there before the season is up.

Tickets are on sale for this game this Thursday, the 24th. The 24th (Sunday) game is probably best for me.

I've only heard from three people so far. If you've sent something and I haven't replied to you yet, then you may have fallen victim to a SPAMmer hitting my server over the weekend with over 15,000 bounced messages using my e-mail address as the return address. Needless to say, a lot of messages went directly to the bit bucket (aka null device, oblivion). We need to get this down soon.

Send a message to Majordomo@japanesebaseball.com with "subscribe watch" in the body (not subject) of the message. Hopefully all requests will get to me this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hopefully the mailing list is not eating up my messages. I've secured 6 tickets for the Tigers-Swallows game on the 24th.

It was crazy. I logged into eplus at like 10:04 and all the third base side seats were already sold out! And the pia page for these games was down due to access overload.

Seems like eplus has added extra handling charges since I last used their service, so the originally 3,100 yen tickets ends up costing 3,450 yen each, sorry about that. They're getting as bad as Ticketmaster (though not quite at that level yet).

I'll go pick up these tickets from the combini later in the day.

Cheers
