Fighters Web-Casts for 2005?

Fighters Web-Casts for 2005?
I just read on Nikkan Sports that the 2005 Fighters games will be braodcast on the Internet. Is this true? Sometimes my translation gets the best of me!

With the main focus of page 5 of today's Nikkan Sports on Shinjo's masked performances and the Tigers banning them when Shinjo makes his return to Koshien for inter-league play, I had missed that one paragraph article.

But, yes, you read that correctly. The Fighters are currently looking into broadcasting their games over the Internet for 2005. There are several companies bidding for the job and no details have been decided yet beyond the decision that they will do Internet broadcasts next season. Even here, they give credit to Shinjo for lifting the popularity of the Fighters, thus creating the demand.

Softbank's Son-owner has been talking with all of the ball clubs about Internet broadcasts, too. My impression was that he was trying to create a comprehensive site for all of the teams. But some teams may hold out and try it on their own. It's hard to get all of the owners to agree on working together for anything.

This is great! If this is true then next year I can see my Fighters!

Silly gaijin question here. Will the broadcast be in Japanese only? Our family and friends would love to hear a game while my husband is pitching.

I don't think that the Fighters or SoftBank are thinking of the foreign market for live broadcasts. If they are, I'd be very surprised.

I hope to continue doing the Game of the Week as I did last season. I've been looking into doing an audio-cast myself, and the technical aspects don't appear to be anything I can't overcome. But I don't yet know if I want to subject you to my voice. I don't like the way I sound on home videos, and would hate to turn a lot of people off of Pro Yakyu just by my voice. (I know that I can't stand to listen to the English Sumo announcers on NHK. It'd be a shame if you all thought the same of me.) I'm also not sure that the family would like the living room turned into a radio studio one night a week. The non-technical problems are the hardest to overcome.

Well, hopefully the Fighters will do video web-casts where language isn't that big a deal.

Try a voice game once and it could lead to a new career. Remember the saying, everyone says that hearing their own voice on tape sounds bad to them.
