Tetsuya Utsumi's Grandfather

Tetsuya Utsumi's Grandfather
I saw on the Japanese wikipedia that Tetsuya Utsumi's grandfather supposedly played for the Giants in the late 1930s but there's no record of him at japanbaseballdaily.com. Which site has incorrect info?

I found him at Japan Baseball Daily here (just hit '/' then type "utsumi" in FireFox to scroll down to Utsumi, Iso - or use the more complicated in-page search facility in other browsers). He played for the Giants in both the Spring and Fall of 1938, then the 1939 season.

When Tetsuya turned down the draft from the Orix BlueWave in 2000, he said that his grandfather played for the Giants, and he wished to, too.

I fail to understand how either site is "incorrect" in this matter. It seems that Wikipedia simply gives a little more information. Or is there something at Japan Baseball Daily that claims that Iso is not Tetsuya's grandfather?

Besides the above Japanese Wikipedia page, the story of Iso being Tetsuya's grandfather is corroborated in many articles from the mainstream press surrounding the 2004 draft (in November of 2003).

I also confirmed Iso's playing for the Giants in the 1930s in "The Official Baseball Encyclopedia 2004."

Hope this helps clear things up.

My error must have been looking him up incorrectly at Gary's site.

Thanks for the clarification/correction!
