I am traveling to Tokyo, Japan soon and would like to bring some items to give to those I meet. I was thinking about bringing packs of U.S. major league baseball cards. Are these easily available already in Japan? Would this be a good idea or what would be a better choice?

U.S. baseball cards are available in Japan. R&B 21 is a sports cards store in Japan that sells MLB cards. They have four shops, one in Ryogoku, Shinjuku, Machida, and Osaka.
