A slider to the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the eighth inning got too much of the plate, and Kadokura's scoreless tie was no more. Pinch-hitter Katsuaki Furuki pulled the pitch down the line for a home run and the Yokohama BayStars beat Yomiuri 2-0 at Yokohama Stadium.
