This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Kenta Kurihara went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs, and Masayuki Hasegawa (2-4) and three relievers combined to blank Hanshin on five hits as Hiroshima doused the flaming-hot Tigers 9-0.
Kurihara took loser Atsushi Nomi (4-4) deep to center with two on in the first, and added an RBI single in a five-run fifth that chased the Hanshin lefty.
Hasegawa limited the Tigers to three singles over six innings, walking four and fanning seven.
In other Central League games:
GIANTS 6, SWALLOWS 5: A 46-minute rain delay in the bottom of the ninth gave closer Koji Uehara time to regroup, and he did as Yomiuri held off hard-charging Yakult at Jingu Stadium.
Ryohei Kawamoto clubbed a three-run homer off Uehara, who then allowed three more hits. But he struck out the last two batters to preserve the win for his 28th save.
The Giants took the lead early, thanks to a wild Kazuhisa Ishii (7-9), who walked one and plunked two in Yomiuri's three-run first.
BAYSTARS 2, DRAGONS 1: Naoki Mitsuhashi (2-1) allowed just one hit--to pitcher Daisuke Yamai (3-3)--over a career-long seven innings as fourth-place Yokohama knocked off Chunichi at Nagoya Dome.
Tatsuhiko Kinjo drove in the game's first run with a bases-loaded single to right, and Shuichi Murata followed with a sacrifice fly that provided the winning margin.
