This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Takahiro Nomaguchi worked six scoreless innings and the Giants cruised in a 9-0 shutout of the Hiroshima Carp at Tokyo Dome.
The Giants moved a half-game ahead of Hanshin, where Yomiuri visits for a three-game series that starts tonight at Koshien Stadium.
Nomaguchi (1-0) and three relievers held the Carp scoreless as the Giants posted back-to-back shutout wins for the first time this season.
"Before the game, the manager just told me to go out and let loose out there," said Nomaguchi, who won for the first time as a starter since Oct. 4, 2005.
"I wanted to justify the skipper using me, and I went all out. I'm glad I could keep them off the scoreboard."
Michihiro Ogasawara, the 2006 Pacific League MVP who joined Yomiuri as a free agent, clubbed his 30th homer in the bottom of the first inning. The two-run shot gave him at least 30 homers for the third consecutive season.
Yoshinobu Takahashi had a pair of double and drove in four runs to power the Giants.

The win moved the Dragons to within a half-game of the Tigers, second behind Yomiuri.
Nakata (13-7), who squirmed out of a bases-loaded jam with one out in a 2-0 game in the bottom of the eighth, added to his career-best win total. He scattered six hits and five walks, but fanned 11 to take over the league lead in strikeouts with 161.
