Baseball's influence spreads around the globe
The first time Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched batting practice for the Boston Red Sox this spring - not a game, mind you, batting practice - the media crush was so intense, his manager had to reach way back for a comparable memory.

"I had Michael Jordan," Terry Francona said, recalling his summer managing Jordan's baseball experiment with Class AA Birmingham in 1994. "And this guy can't dunk. So I've seen it."
