ついにトラが９連勝で逆転首位に立った！ 阪神は巨人との首位決戦第２戦で２－１と競り勝って、４月３日以来の首位奪取に成功した。先発安藤優也投手（２９）が６回１失点で今季初勝利。最後は守護神藤川球児投手（２７）が炎の９連投で締め、３９セーブ目を挙げた。前夜の壮絶な打撃戦から一転しての投手戦。鳥谷、葛城の２発で挙げた２点を守った。６月２９日には首位と最大で１２ゲーム差あったが、セ・リーグでは９６年の巨人１１・５差を抜く最大の逆転劇となった。
