３位のロッテは痛い逆転負けで、首位の日本ハムとのゲーム差は４に広がった。七回までに３点のリードを奪い、先発の小林宏も八回まで１失点の好投だった。だが、九回に無死一、二塁のピンチで降板。後を受けた小林雅がセギノールに逆転アーチを許した。バレンタイン監督は九回について「逆転の走者となるセギノールを歩かせるつもりはなかった。小林雅は今後も抑えで使う」とコメントした。
