上原が踏ん張った。巨人が雨に苦しみながらヤクルトに勝って自力Ｖを復活させた。９回、一打逆転のピンチで雨による４６分間の中断となったが、守護神上原浩治投手（３２）が２者連続三振で締めて６－５で逃げ切った。巨人は連敗を３で止めて２位に浮上し、首位阪神が広島に敗れたため、再び０・５ゲーム差に迫った。
