「すべては一回だな」と落合監督は振り返った。先頭の井端が二塁打し、荒木の二ゴロで一死三塁としながら中村紀は空振り三振。二死満塁から李炳圭は遊ゴロに倒れて絶好の先制機を逃した。これで「三浦が立ち直った」と指揮官。この日唯一の連打で１点をかえした六回も二死一、二塁で代打・堂上剛は一邪飛と詰めを欠いた。勝負は先と見たのか。切り札・立浪の温存は裏目に出た。
