ハーラートップの西武涌井が９回１失点で完投しながら負け投手となった。４回まで１四球無安打だったが、５回に２本の二塁打を浴びて唯一の失点を許した。１６勝目を挙げた後に３連敗となったが「悪い投球が続いているわけじゃない。打者もいつか打ってくれると思うし、今日みたいに我慢して投げればいいと思う」と次回に気持ちを切り替えた。
