巨人伊原ヘッドコーチが、殊勲の同点打を放った加藤を絶賛した。９回２死満塁から加藤は２点適時右前打。「よく打ってくれたねえ。いつも努力してるから。よく９回に５点も取ってくれた」。上位３チームが０・５ゲーム差にひしめく大混戦となり「これからですよ」とニヤリと笑っていた。
