巨人が４連勝で首位に再浮上し、クライマックスシリーズ進出を決めた。２点を追う８回、１死満塁から不振の４番李承■内野手（３１）が、右中間へ走者一掃の逆転三塁打を放った。９回には守護神上原浩治投手（３２）が３人で締め、球団タイの今季３０セーブ目をマークした。２４日から２位中日を本拠地東京ドームに迎え首位決戦。巨人は自力優勝が復活し、残り５試合で全勝すれば、中日、阪神の勝敗に関係なく優勝。また中日、阪神が負け続ければ最短で２７日にも優勝が決まる。
