今季限りで引退する西武石井貴が、１４年のプロ人生を３球三振で締めくくった。９回の先頭で登板。伊東監督からボールを渡されて打者１人限定の現役最終登板に臨み、１４３キロで田中賢を空振り三振に仕留めた。試合後の引退セレモニーでは「もう私の肩は上がりません。一生懸命投げてきました。今日で引退します」とシンプルなあいさつの後、チーム全員による胴上げで３度宙に舞った。小林球団社長は試合後にコーチ就任要請を検討していることを明かした。
