ヤクルト・ラミレスが横浜戦で２安打し、外国人＆右打者初のシーズン２００安打にあと３本と迫った。初回２死から「狙っていたボールと違った」というカーブを左中間席へ２８号先制ソロ。７回にも中越え二塁打で１９７本とした。３０日の横浜戦２試合で大台の期待がかかる。「アシタネ、アシタ。ガンバリマス」。よどみのない日本語で切り出すと「１日でも早く達成した方がいいからね。多少プレッシャーはあるけど気持ちを抑えてやるよ」と一気の達成を宣言した。
