これがエースだ。パ・リーグのクライマックスシリーズ（ＣＳ）第２ステージ（Ｓ）第１戦（５試合制）は、リーグ優勝の日本ハムが第１Ｓを勝ち上がったロッテに５－２で逆転勝ちした。先発のダルビッシュ有投手（２１）は「今季最悪の出来」で序盤こそ４安打されて２失点したが、４回以降は立ち直って１安打に抑えて完投した。昨年のプレーオフ第２Ｓ（対ソフトバンク）に続く２年連続の初戦完投勝ちで、チームに大きな先勝をもたらした。
