セギノールが、一振りで決めた。１回裏１死一、二塁。２四球と荒れる川上に対し、カウント２ー０からの３球目、シュート回転で真ん中に入ってきた球をとらえた。打球は右中間スタンドに飛び込む先制、そして決勝の３ラン。この後、打線は７回まで１人の走者も出せなかった。川上が調子を取り戻すほどに、セギノールの１発が貴重なものになっていった。
