日本ハムの連覇はならなかった。中４日で先発したエース・ダルビッシュ有投手（２１）が７回を５安打１失点。シリーズ初の２試合連続２ケタとなる１１三振を奪う力投を見せたが、中日山井、岩瀬の完全リレーの前に０－１で敗れた。ダルビッシュが投手陣の柱として２試合１６回を２失点２４Ｋと孤軍奮闘も、シリーズ最低の打率１割４分７厘、ワーストタイとなる５試合７得点と貧打に泣いた。本拠地、札幌ドームに帰ることなく、０７年シーズンに幕を下ろした。
